Curriculum
Enrique Velasco´s 40- year career is hard to summarize. He has covered the facets of soloist, maestro and executive of the artistic field. He has performed concerts in more than 36 countries, reaching audiences in places such as the Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow, Russia),the F.Chopin Auditorium( Warsaw, Polony),IILA (Rome,Italy), The UNESCO Auditorium ( Paris, France), The Kennedy Center (Washington, USA) and in the National Theatres of other eleven countries in Europe, Asia and America. He has also performed almost throughout the whole Mexican Republic, including the main festivals and auditoriums: The National Palace of Fine Arts, the Nezahualcóyotl Hall, The Ollín Yoliztli Auditorium, the Chapultepec Castle and the National Center for the Arts.
Disciple of Manuel Lopez Ramos, Velasco has been a promoter of his guitaristic school. He has received important distinctions: among them is the First prize in the National Guitar Contest; his designation as “soloist of the Year” by the Mexican Union of Theatre and Music journalists; his appointment as the president of the Jury in the International Manuel M. Ponce Contest in Warsaw, Poland. He has performed as a soloist at the main UNESCO Auditorium in Paris, France, as well as executed concerts and given lectures at the International Biennial in Laudería in Cremona, Italy.
Velasco has also hosted numerous TV and radio programs about Music & guitar in Mexico. He has given lectures, Master classes and Guitar courses at relevant Institutions of High Education: the Popular Institute of Music in Lodz, Poland; the Superior School in Tver, Russia; the Fullerton University in Los Angeles, USA; the Universities of San Juan (Puerto Rico), Victoria (Canada), Guatemala and Costa Rica. In Mexico for the National Conservatory of Music, the Universities of Yucatán, Coahuila, the State of México, Nuevo León, Hidalgo, Veracruz, the National University of Mexico and the Metropolitan University. He has given recitals & lectures for the Mexican Embassies in Poland, Russia, Greece, United States, Guatemala and Spain. He has been member of the Jury for National and International Guitar Contests in Poland, France, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
He is professor of guitar at the Superior Institute of Music of the Veracruz State and at the Faculty of Music at the Universidad Veracruzana. He has the honor of been elected Decano in this last institution “for his academic leadership and outstanding contributions, which enrich the prestige of this institution”
